St. Andrew's Co-Operative Playschool has been serving the Markham community for over 45 years.
St. Andrew's Co-Operative Playschool Inc. is a non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors consisting of elected members. Our school is licensed by the Ministry of Family, Child & Community Services as a day nursery.
What is a Co-op School?
When you enroll your child in St. Andrew's you become a member of a co-operative. A co-op is an organization that is run by its members. We have a paid staff of teachers who develop the program and run the classes but the administration of the school is handled by the co-op members. This allows us to offer lower fees than most other preschools but means that each family accepts a commitment to join a committee that helps to run the school. There are a wide range of responsibilities offering varying levels of time commitment and flexibility. Almost all families can make the co-op experience work well for them.
St. Andrew's Playschool is more than just a school, it is a community of families who are raising young children. We have several events throughout the year that, together with your co-op position, give parents the opportunity to get to know the families of their children's classmates and to make their own friends and find support from other parents of preschoolers.
